Black Line

Founder: Scott McConnell

Origin: Scott selected black as his family line color because of how much he liked the color. He also wished to keep a strong connection to the city of Pittsburgh.

Gold Line

Founder: Greg Wheeler

Origin: Alpha Omega had just been established as a Chapter. Our Chapter Sponsor, Lou, got a sweatshirt, and the letter colors were Gold on White with a navy shirt. Greg liked the look and by mistake reversed the colors to be White on Gold. It also did not hurt that gold is one of the school colors. Later on, Yvonne, Tony (Greg's littles) and Greg were talking about how much they liked it, and how it felt royal. They even talked about developing family crests and mascots. Gold was cemented as their family color.

Hunter Green Line

Founder: Jeff Lytle

Origin: When picking colors out, both Jeff and Anthony wanted green as their color. The two agreed to take a distinct shade of green: Jeff taking Hunter Green, his favorite color, and Anthony taking Kelly Green after his Kelly Green pet fish.

Kelly Green Line

Founder: Anthony Roscoe

Origin: When picking colors out, both Jeff and Anthony wanted green as their color. The two agreed to take a distinct shade of green: Jeff taking Hunter Green, his favorite color, and Anthony taking Kelly Green after his Kelly Green pet fish.

Origin: Maroon was selected by Jason as his family color beacuse he liked Maroon out of the choices available when the other colonists were selecting their colors.

Red Line

Founder: Timothy Keller

Origin: Red was selected by Tim because it is his favorite color.

Silver Line

Founder: Joseph Mills

Origin: Silver was selected by Joe for two reasons. He wanted the color to be a precious metal to show how valuable friendship is. His nickname is Precious, only fitting that his line color is precious as well.

Founder: Rich Trouton

Origin: It is unclear if Rich picked the color or if it was arbitrarily assigned to him. Most likely it was picked by Rich because he liked how it looked on letters as well as its simplicity

Tan Line (Extinct)

Founder: Tina Eaves

Origin: While the re-colonization was happening, Tina was already a brother, having gone through third degree at Eta Alpha (Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania) before she transferred to Pitt. Being that was the case, she was not part of the chapter at the re-founding. She helped them out along the way, but did not become an active brother of Alpha Omega until about one year later. So, it was not until she became an active brother with the chapter, that she chose her family line color. As boring as it is, most of the other "good" colors had been taken and the practical side of her said "Well, tan/khaki goes with pretty much everything." One thing that was pretty cool about that time was that she was an Honorary Brother and an Active Brother of the same chapter. At the re-colonization, they made her an Honorary Brother. When she decided to pursue her master′s degree from Pitt and Alpha Omega extended active membership to her at this time.

Purple Line (Extinct)

Founder: Joe Romano

Origin: The origin of purple line is still unknown
